Drastic Times Call For Drastic Measures ( we need to take extreme actions here ... )

"Drastic Times Call For Drastic Measures"

Difficult situations require us to take actions that would be considered extreme if taken in other situations.

Example: "Sales have been slow and we had to let go three of our employees; drastic times call for drastic measures."

Actions which are more extreme than we normally take are considered "drastic measures." {also: "desperate times call for desperate measures."}
